Talecris Biotherapeutics Donates Vital Medical Treatment and Supplies to Haitian Relief Efforts
Research Triangle Park, N.C – (Feb. 15, 2009) -- Talecris Biotherapeutics (Nasdaq: TLCR) has donated life-saving therapy and other supplies to the relief efforts for the victims of the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti.
Talecris has donated more than $100,000 of tetanus immune globulin (human) for prophylaxis against tetanus, a potentially life-threatening disease. This donation was provided through the Crudem Foundation, a charitable organization that runs a hospital, medical clinics, a blood bank and other healthcare programs in Haiti.
In addition to its product donation, Talecris employees have partnered with AmeriCares to provide supplies and financial assistance to the relief efforts, including food items, blankets and sheets, and thousands of dollars in monetary donations.
